Early immersion grade 6 have been asked to choose a subject for an upcoming opinion piece writing assignment. They have also been asked to find 5 to 10 facts for tomorrow which help to support their opinion. This week they will also need to think of two arguments which counter their opinion as well. They may need to do some research for this. Details of the assignment will be given tomorrow. Grade 8: Homeroom info sent home on yellow sheets...details about parent-teacher interviews this week. Also order forms for yearbooks have been sent home. We are currently out of kleenex...any help with this would be greatly appreciated! Mme Conrad

Speeches are due Wednesday of next week for 6 early and 8 late immersion students. Students are expected to memorize speeches, however they may use a few Q cards with important key phrases written on them. Speeches are to be between 2 and 4 minutes in length. Have a great weekend!

Early immersion 6 and 8 late. The writing of speeches is well underway. Students should have introductions and most of the body of their first copies done by Monday. We will continue to write in class all of next week. The following week students will have a few days to memorize and practice speeches. The following week they will be presenting. If students are finding they do not have enough time in class to finish their work, they are expected to do some work at home. Have a great weekend. Late immersion grade 6 please do some reading in french over the weekend.

8E: Please leave testbook material at home and bring in a new duo tang if you are in need of a new one. We are making a fresh start with the testbooks. Also please bring in a new french duo tang if you need a new one of those as well. Biographies were passed back today to be signed. We will be completing verbs this week, and moving onto speeches as soon as possible.
All grade six classes: please bring in a new duo tang if you are in need of a new one. Please transfer old material to the new duo tang. Early immersion students received their biographies today. They will come home soon with your child's testbook. We will be starting speeches in the near future after we have completed the verbs passe compose and l'imparfait. I am in the process of correcting the late immersion assignments.
